BTW, the ACM should not be used... from what I can tell it's totally broken.

Virtualdub can't even access the ACM options - it crashes.

It appears the ACM problems are a compilation issue not a code one. The compiled acm stuff at http://gabriel.mp3-tech.org/lame works fine :)

I think I'll just go and request this be added to the zip in the downloads section.

i've played around with it some... it's nice.

generally gives better quality (i haven't tested the ~180kbps+ range properly, but i can't see how i could tell a difference in that range anyway)

i've not come across any clips that bust it up yet.
