I have a couple of Matroska files that have AAC audio tracks. I want to demux the AAC audio, and convert it to wave. VitualDubMod won't let me demux, and I haven't found any info on converting AAC to wave, or any other format, but plenty the other way around.
So what I need to know is;
1. What can I use to demux the darn thing
2. What can convert AAC to any other format I can actually work with (wave, Mp3, Ogg).
I looked every where for these answers and found nothing. Please help before I lose my bird.
Thanks alot

Well for demuxing just download MkvToolnix(you can find the link in the thread in New container section of this forum) and use mkvinfo.I think to rencode you can use Nero or maybe Besweet(latest GUI from DANNI) but you know that you'll have a loss of quality,don't you?

before you reencode and get worse quality, why cant you work with it or what do you want to do with it?

maybe it also works with aac

I have some files that have a noisy and hissy source that I need to clean. I may want to encode to SVCD or another format for various reasons. Occasionally I will sacrifice a small amount of quality for versatility. I also may need to upload a file into a friends FTP and there is just not enough room.
I use Virtualdubmod almost exclusively for Avi/Ogm conversions.
Far as I undestand Besweet only does encode to AAC not vice versa, but I will check again
I need to understand the formats I use and not be locked into a choice thats not mine.
Btw, Thanks for the speedy responses. Any more options would be appreciated
