Some recommends to use DVD Decypter to rip down the movie to harddrive before using DVD Shink, can anyone give me a good reason why?

If you are only going to use DVD Shrink, then as long as DVD Shrink has no problems ripping the disc there is no reason to use DVDDecrypter. I use DVDDecrypter as a front end for DVDStripper on all rips then run them thru DVD Shrink if shrinking is still needed. Each to their own :)

I always rip my DVD's with DVD Decryptor before using DVDShrink or ReJig because it has better rip capabilities. And it's better to work from HD than from DVD-ROM reader.

Also if you would like to put your DVD away and mess with the files later. If you have them on your hard drive you dont have to go get the DVD disc out of the closet. If this is not an issue then you can use Anydvd and go straight from DVD to nero if you desire. (of course the files get copied to your drive anyway but its automatic).
