tearing problem

Ive got my pc hooked up to my Tv via svideo lead, when i play a film off my hardrive onto my tv I get tearing, especially fast scenes when the camera pans. Its fine on my monitor, i have a geforcefx 5600 graphics card, amd 3200 processor with 1056 ram and Im using windows media player or realplayer classic to play them, films are divx encoded. Please help thanks

Try setting the output to tv ONLY.

Ive set it to TV output only it stops the tearing but the screen is zoomed in so alot is missing. Thanks

Check the overlay setting in the display properties. I usually find that outputing to both TV and monitor works well as long as you choose TV as primary. On the overlay settings, set full screen device to disabled and make sure Zoom is out. Hope this helps.
