:devil: i follow all of the GKnot guides exactly and i'm ending up with a few files that are all like 6 GIGS (that's right gigs) EACH! i get movietitle.avi, movietitle_movie.avi, and movietitle_credits.avi and they're all huge files. can anyone think of what i'm doin wrong????

why dont u just use auto gk for now :D

Hello, p_dubya, welcome to Doom9's forum.

From your description, it seems to me as if you are producing uncompressed AVI rather than DivX encodings. But you could have something else going on procedurally causing you grief. Here's what I recommend: Check to be sure that DivX is installed correctly. Open VdubMod, select Video...Compression, and see if DivX 5 is in the list of codecs that appears. If not, it isn't installed correctly.

Install and run GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe). It is used to analyze .avi files. It will tell you if DivX is used, what the bitrate is, resolution, and other information.

If DivX is installed properly, and DivX is shown as the codec in the .avi file(s), then post a recent "<movie name>_GKnot.log" file here. It may help us see if there was some procedural problem.Lastly, please, edit your thread, and change the subject. You may be frustrated, but we run a "family" forum. Thank you.
