Flashing the modified firmware is enough.
Not that i need it, but its just funny to update my old 2x Speed ND1000A to a 4x Speed +/- one. :D

Just downloaded the all flash files for the ND1300A, but only one was not corrupted (necnd13_10a_a.bin).
Everytime I attempt to load the bin file, the flash utility is unable to open it. Even renamed it by removing all the lines, but still got the same problem.
Was able to flash with Etna's ND1100A bin file with no problems, but I am interested in trying to ND1300A flash, to benefit from the DVD-R capabilities.
Attempted to download the "Holiday Special", version 1.8 from Herrie's site, but it also was corrupt.
Seems the files used by those that are successfull, are either corrupt or unable to open.
Any suggestions? I have the same ND1000A that has shown success rates.

I used the modified 1.0a firmware from here,
http://etna.rpc1.org/nec/nec1100%20to%201300.html
and the flash utility from here:
http://etna.rpc1.org/nec
I just downloaded the rom again, its identical to the one that i have flashed without problems :confused:
-RW seems to work quite good for me, but -R not. Some work, but most times with very slow rading speeds so i dont think they will be very long lasting.

@Zhnujm
Thanks for your help, got the files and updated the firmware.
All seems to be OK for now. Burned a DVD-R data disc, using a Sony media. Burned a 2X speed, so I assume it was a 2X disc. Does not say on label what speed it is.
Used Nero Burning Rom version 6.3.0.3. Was able to access the disk in Windoze Explorer, with no problems.
