14 seconds to encoding video is fantastic!! Even more, using IVTC. I would like to have your machine :D

Seriously, please post also your avs file. I do not have experience with IVTC, but sure it will help to find the problem

Also, there is something strange with your free space in drive E: (higher after the encode), but may be you have deleted some file...

Nothing leaps out. If you play the .avs file in Windows Media Player do you get pictures or text?

If you get text, what does it say?

Trying to guess (using info of other problem posts)..
In the case of playing OK in windows media player, please test the avs file just trying to load it in TMPGENc. If a message like "unsupported" pops up, try again deleting the last line and/or replacing it with ConvertToYUY2().

yes, i can open the .avs in WMP and I get video and i can also load it in TMPGEnc without getting an error message, but i can't load the audio file in TMPGEnc.

Don't worry about the audio. DVD2SVCD doesn't use TMPG for that anyway - only the video. So what I can't fathom is why the video is not encoding properly.

If you crash recover from video encoding what happens?

helix

i've tried that too, it just tries to run through the normal process again, but keeps failing to make the bin/cue. I also tried to reinstall TMPGEnc which didn't seem to solve the problem.

helix

could the problem with encoding be that i checked the box "do not convert audio (keep source audio)" I don't think i want the original DVD audio for an SVCD.

jsoto
16th January 2004, 01:36
Yes, an ac3 track is illegal in SVCD. You have to use MPEG1 layer 2 (AKA mp2).

But...., when you checks "Do not convert audio" a window with a warning pops up, doesn't it?.

yes, i did get an message when i check the box. I went back and looked and it was checked so I took it off and tried to encoding again to see if it would work. and I did acually get an image file but it was only 100 megs    good god what is going on
