View Full Version : Pls help, I think TMPGEnc is adding text to DVD rip...

I've looked everywhere I can find to see if this is a problem for anyone else, and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Either I'm unable to communicate it correctly, or I'm the only person with this problem. Using DVD2SVCD 1.2.1.b3 I get some text added to the final rip, as shown in this video capture (13kb):
http://www.hackingiswrong.org/images/tmpgenc.jpg
Can someone please tell me how to turn this "feature" off in the TMPGEnc program? I would _really_ appreciate it, because that is the only thing that mars an otherwise perfect compressed rip of a DVD movie (which I own.) :)
Thanks in advance!

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
That's not TMPGEnc's fault. Your AVS script is dirty with an Autocrop command. Please :script: so we can help you better.

Sorry, forgot to do this in the first place, my bad. Also note that I killed the TMPGEnc encoding process so the last few entries are probably garbage. Thanks!

I think I see what you've done.
To use AutoFitCD what you have to do is select it AutofitCD Border Detect in the frameserver tab as you did. Preview to video to detect the borders then hit the FitCD button on the preview pane.
I think you have let it detect borders then killed the preview pane and started the conversion. AutoFitCD includes 2 scripts - one for the preview and border detection and one for encoding. You are encoding with the preview script. Hitting the FitCD button in the preview pane once the borders have been correctly detected corrects this.

Well, I just launch DVD2SVCD and hit [rip and convert] and it does it all automagically. So, I'm not quite sure where I can inturrupt the process to tell it to not use the preview script any more for FitCD. I've been reading the Readme.txt for AutoFitCD and can't find anything about that, but perhaps I'm just missing it.
In DVD2SVCD is that part of the AviSynth script? Would I be able to change it in the AviSynth setup area? If all I want to do is rip a DVD to VCD do I even have to use the Detect Borders command in the first place?

@mushu,
AutoFitCD is powerfull but requires you to read carefully the instructions. There are the AutoFitCD instructions and the FitCD instrucions. Read them both and you shall find what Nick is talking about.
If using it, you just cannot press "Rip and convert". If you want to just "Rip and convert", use one of the default DVD2SVCD resizers.
