View Full Version : Annoying (but nonlethal) error message

I recently upgraded to Windows XP, and now whenever I call up the video compression panel in VirtualDub, I get the following error message:

VirtualDub 1.5.10 - [testfile.avi]:VirtualDub.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point SUnMapLS_IP_EBP_16 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

Actually, I get it twice, but after clicking OK to remove the messages, the compression panel comes up anyway and I can go about my business unhindered. At least, until the next time I need to select or configure a video codec.

I suspect it's more of a Windows issue than a VDub bug, as I received a similar message when selecting a codec in another application, but it's mainly affecting my work with VDub, so I thought I'd ask here first in case someone's dealt with the same problem.

Any ideas as to what's causing this, and how I can fix it?

I'd suspect one of your codecs is buggy. You could try to disable them one by one to see which is the culprit.

You may well have been right.

I had to resort to a clean install of WinXP to fix some other issues, and as a side benefit the VDub error message no longer occurs. The compression panel looks depressingly barren at the moment.

I suppose I don't really need more than the factory defaults, plus Indeo 5, DivX, and Huffyuv.

Thank you for responding.
