downloaded firmware 2.0H...
flashed the DRU500A from 2.0G to 2.0H...
burned a new dvd...
watched the final result... ;-)

This to say that the upgrade went flawless,
and the burner wrote a blanco dvd disk from a rather troublesome brand without any hickups!

All OK!

A really bad lot of Pr*nc*'s... Since I bought them, the shopkeeper even put up a sign: 'faulty disks will not be replaced'. Read this as: buy at your own risk.

In the same spindle, it's different from disk to disk, but this lot is really bad:

- The burner tries to read the index before burning, but starts very difficulty, and sometimes breaks off. Happens in about 1/3 of these disks.
All disks from this lot burned with '2.0H' start up normally: could be the firmware, also could be some good disks...

- Other problem which no firmware can correct: faulty surface on some disks, which acts as a lens that spreads open the laserbeam. You get a hazy blanc spot on your disk, the burning breaks off, and your disk is ruined... Last spindle: 4 on 10 disks!

You won't see me bying these again.
