I have problem with decoding movies created with Nic build 16.7.2003 using Koepi betas.
Problem is only by movies with vhq4. Other setting options has not effect for this problem.
Movies encoded with vhq 4 is possible decode without problems only with Nic build 16.7.2003 and with Nero video decoder. With DivX 5.1.1 appears light fog arround moving objects.
With Koepi beta is I-frame ok a other are with blach squares. Black squares are bigger with each next frame. Next I-frame is ok again etc.
Please is possible do something with this problem. I dont want reencode all movies encoded with vhq4.
Thanks

ok try ffdshow as its a very good playbback filter alternatively try selcting a diferent colour space for the overlay in the decoders configuration.

Doesn't ffdshow have problems decoding the latest XviD betas?
Correct me if I'm wrong, or if it's been updated..

Afaik the only problem is when the source is encoded with packed bitstream which ffdshow is unable to decode properly, and it's set as default in beta 3, so it's something to look at before encoding :D

Uh... how about using Selam and just turning off packed bitstream? It's not as if packed bitstream worked any different in the previous versions, it just wasn't turned on by default.

Forgive me if I am a n00b, but isnt packed bitstream an option used during encoding? What does it have to do with videos encoded using Nic's 16.7.2003 build and VHQ4 not being able to be played in Selam?

Yes ffdshow works without problem and nero video decoder too, but I hope that Xvid 1.0 final will be compatible

Mainly because I was thinking you weren't using Selam for ENcoding. As long as you don't use packed bitstream when encoding, you should be able to play the result with both XviD and ffdshow (modulo some version-dependent bugs)...
