Hello,

Recently I'll had 2 DVD's which worked fine until they suddenly stop playing. When I "push" it forward a little bit it starts again until the next point.
Now they always stop at the same points.

They are NTSC. Never had any problems with PAL (I'll live in Europe)
Had some NTSC before. All working fine.
I know the movie works fine on other standalone-players and on PC.
Somehow it's standalone related.(Pioneer 717)

I tried to re-author, didn't help at all.
Somebody had this before ?

Sizzle,

I think you just answered yourself your own question as you said:

I suggest you should play the same 2 mentioned DVDs on other Pioneer 717, and see they still play. If they do, it means your own Pioneer 717 has been wearing out mechanically ?!!!

I have seen similar problems twice.

- The first time the reason was a hardware problem on an early revision of a KISS DP-450. This problem occurred with every DVD that was played in the DP-450. I got the player replaced.

- The second time the problem was related to the authoring process. I had been using Ifoedit 0.95 to author the DVD and the movie stopped at two different time positions (1:23:05 and 1:24:12) when I played the DVD in one of my DVD players. In the other players it worked fine. I authored and burned the same movie again but the problem remained at exactly the same time positions in the movie.
Then I re-authored the DVD once again, but this time with DVD Maestro and Yes, It worked perfect. I don't know why, maybe there was some problem with the media assets that only DVD Maestro could handle.
