I just popped in American Wedding tonight and discovered that is has those wonderful non-skippable advertisements before the Main menu comes up. GRRRRRRRR!!!

I paid good money for that movie, and I should not have to suffer through that crap! Does this piss anyone else off? Or is it just me? :angry: :angry: :angry:

Disney titles are the worst, but at least they are skippable. Not only do they give you trailers for their movies, then you get trailers for their direct to video crap, then you get a promo for an ABC TV show, WTF.

Every time I make a backup they are the first thing to go.

If you're using a htpc, try sth like anydvd, Remote Selector or DVDregionfree to make these items skippable. DVDSynth does the job as well and is freeware, but is no longer developed.

If you have a standalone, it's more tricky. Some ancient models would ingnore user prohibitions, and some Sonys could be hardware-modded to do so. No idea about current models, though.

This also pi**es me off :(

But on some older (or "made in china") standalones i'm able to skip these advertising sh*t by simply pressing the 'menu' button on the remote. Most of the time i get directly to the disc menu skipping the intro (e.g. the FBI warning) wich is normally not skipable ;)
