reate single mpg from ts with TMPGEnc instead of audio & video files?

I am able to use TMPGEnc to turn a .ts file from MyHD into 2 files: an m2v and a wav.

I can rename the m2v file as mpg and it will play in Windows Media Player.

How can I instruct TMPGEnc to just create a single mpg file that contains video and audio?

The Output file name defaults to (m2v+wav) - and I don't seem to be able to tell it to create a single file.

You have to convert your .wav file into .mp2 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer II) and then multiplex it with your .m2v file into single mpg. Both tasks can be easily done with TMPGEnc.

Instead, you should try ProjectX and try Demux or better Create PS (Program Stream).

It's easyest (one click) and works well

symonjfox - I looked in the doom9 downloads and did not see ProjectX - where is it?

I was able to use TMPGEnc to convert into an mpeg-2 single file (I had to change the default audio format to be able to output to a single file) - but just demuxing the transport stream into a program stream sounds better.

Is the program stream the same thing as an mpeg-2?

Mpeg2 is a big standard. Mpeg2 Transport Stream is the one used for broadcasting DVB channels.
Mpeg2 Program Stream is the one used to computer MPEG2 files.
There are some differencies in the way the data is stored, not on the data stream itself. So if you transmux video and audio from a TS file, into a PS (.mpg) there aren't any loss.

ProjecX makes this job flawlessly, and if there are any errors in the stream, these are managed better than any other demuxer. Give it a try!

ProjectX binaries are not to distribute. You can download the source code and compile it by yourself (you need Java SDK). the net is big, maybe you'll find some binary ... if you search well.
