DVD-10 to DVD-5

Does anyone know how to put a dvd-10(double sided) onto a dvd-5(single sided) because the movie is on the one side and the extra features are on the other side. So I want to have everything on the one side so I don't have to flip the disc over or guesting which side the movie is on.

A guide for DVD Shrink would be very useful!!!

You have to re-author your DVD and so keep only the movie and put extras at the end without menus. Otherwise you have to relink all and that's a big job. Another solution if you want to keep the menus it's to make 2 DVD, one with the movie and one with the extras. Or, and it's my favorit solution, it's to simply put the extras into the dustbin, I really have nothing to do with them. :D

This is merely a specialized case of merging titles off of different DVDs.

www.dvdshrink.info has a guide on that (it even says 'combining double-sided DVDs) if no one else does.

This guide is quiet simple and I mentioned this solution in my early post, it's to re-author and put the extras at the end. But he maybe want a solution keeping the menus and extras selection and it's much more difficult.

I have no idea. I don't think it'd be easy, and I don't think the quality would be even close to acceptable.

Before even starting down the path of trying to find out how to do this, I'd perform a test to see if it is even worth the effort. Use DVDShrink re-author to merge all the titles from both sides of the disk. That will end up with a disk with all the content (the movie and all the extras) but none of the menus. If the quality of that is unacceptable, the quality with menus will be even worse (especially if the menus are large).

If you wanted to try something other than DVDShrink to compress it, you can still test to see if it's worth doing. Run DVDShrink as above, but with no compression. Then put the output of DVDShrink into the tool of your choice.

If you do get quality you can accept, whatever the tool you use, then it's worth pursuing further. You might be able to use a one-click tool as part of your process, but no one-click tool is going to be able to combine the two sides of the disk. I think you're looking at basically authoring your own disk from scratch - I don't know of any other way to move the root menu (VIDEO_TS.VOB) and the overlapping title sets out of the way of each other.
