I'm planning to become a ripper, and i'm planning to hang around here to learn a bit or two about digital video.
I wanted to get into the music scene but there are so many albums released that i cant really compete with people receiving promos, working for record companies, etc etc

peace

So, lemme get this straight. You're announcing right here, right now, that you plan on learning how to convert DVDs to some format or other, and then release them publicly. Do I have that about right?

Well i'd say you're more or less right on that one yes.

This is the wrong forum, then, sybariten.

Click on http://www.doom9.org/disclaimer.htm, paying special attention to the 2nd and 3rd paragraph. Then, click on http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm, paying special attention to #2 and #6. Finally, click on http://forum.doom9.org/announcement.php?s=&forumid=6.

You're better off elsewhere.

Sybariten:

Thanks for clearing that up, your initial post confused me somewhat, I must admit. Maybe I can help clear up some of your apparent confusion by pointing you to the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9/forum-rules.htm). Please take a look at #6, as your stated intentions would thrash this one all to heck. You might even run into someone that would take issue with your future efforts due to copyright infringement, but I'm probably confused there, too.

As per usual, jggimi, you've beaten me to the punch, supplying more, and better, information. Thanks to you, too, Manono, for asking the proper question that led to the clearing of my confusion. I believe I'll close this one, now. :)

A message to the moderators that commented on my orignal thread "declaration" -now locked, as it seems- just to make things clear... (I appreciate that you pointed me to the rules, which i had already read ofcourse.)
I am not sure how you could misinterpret the original post as concern any copyright laws, but then again, people read things differently.

peace!

Please do the research and reading as pointed to you in the above links. The copying and dissemination of copyrighted material is illegal in most countries, the discussion of such is against Doom9's forum rules, plain and simple.

Merged with initial thread, and closed again.
