Hi

I have this DVD, Solaris - PAL UK. I want to remove the extras as if I do this then the main movie and the menu (which I want to keep) will be just under 4.37 G without any re-encoding.

The problem is that the DVD starts off by playing trailers which are contained in the same VOB files as the Extras (behind the scenes etc). I would like to know the best way of removing the titleset while still having the menu and the DVD starting with the menu.

I am a newb and think I can use ifoedit to alter the VIDEO_TS.IFO but I dont know how to do it. Or can I use InstantCopy to remove it. I was hoping it was a smple case of deleting the unwanted VOBS but of cours that would be too easy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot. :D

One option would be to replace every PGC in the extras VTS(s) with a short black click (1 GOP say - approx half a sec) using Scenarist. Then run IFOUpdate on relevant the IFOs. I believe you could also use MenuEdit to do this blanking and then IFOEdit do produce new IFOs/vobs for the affected VTS.

This way the DVD structure would remain intact, just when you inserted the DVD there would be a very short period of black.

Or use IfoEdit and change the firstplay to jump to the root menu. Of course this may not work in all cases, because dvds are all authored differently. Search for 2cool, he has a lot of guides.
