Created .iso but now read speed is really slow

I used dvd decryptor 3.1.9.0 to make an iso and then daemon-tools to mount the image, as recommended by almost everyone. Now, I have a 120 GB hd that I partitioned into 40GB and 80GB pieces. Running win2k sp3 on the 40 GB paritition and that is where the iso image is. Now when I use the Big 3, the read rate using dvd decryptor is very slow, like it hovers around 2.5. When I make an image of the movie, I get anywhere from 5 to 9. Whats the deal? Is something wrong?

No, you're just seeing the difference between reading from one device and writing to another (faster), and reading and writing to the same device (slower). Daemon tools may be slowing things down a little too.
