Can I use CCE Basic?

I want to use CCE; I don't want the logo; I can't afford the licence fee for CCE SP - My only choices seem to be CCE Basic or TMPGEnc.

In my attempts to see if it works, all seems well except that the encoder control file seems to be interpreted incorrectly (vast bitrate settings, etc, etc). If I stop the process as CCE Basic starts, set the controls manually, save the control file out and then restart it at that point - all seems to work.

Misery loves company. I have the same problem except I start these processes at night and don't have the patience to wait until the encode starts. I can't find anything in DOOM9 on this issue or at the CCE site. Would be great if someone had an answer.
