Remove Audio Streams from AVI

Hi

I am wanting to remove some audio streams from AVI files I have, there are 5 audio streams when I only require 1. The main reason I want to remove the streams is so I can fit the AVI files onto a DVD-R.

Is it possible to remove the audio streams and recode using just the 1 stream or any other techniques?

also the audio streams i want to remove, wen selected to play in windows media player, they play too fast than what they should do, like pinky & perky.

How can i overcome that in the future?
