Instant copy undersizing no matter what?

I'm backing up my futurama dvds with pinnacle instant copy 7. Disc 1 turned out 4.3 gigs, which is fine. However, disc 2 ends up 3.95 gigabytes, all three times I've tried it. The first attempt I set instant copy at 4.35 gigs, the second time I oversized to 4.5 gigs, the third time 4.7 gigs and each time it ends up 3.95 gigabytes.

I'm using the registry settings recommended on this board and I've tried the settings that ic hidden settings editor recommends, no change. Is there a fix for this problem? I was having this problem with instant copy 8 and the family guy series of dvds, but installing ic 7 fixed it until now.

As far as I know there isn't. One of the quirks when using IC.

Thanks for the information. What's your opinion of the quality of dvdshrink's output compared to that of instant copy? Yes, I'll be trying it and judging myself, but you're a knowledgable person and I would appreciate your opinion.

perhaps i shouldnt answer this,but in my!!! own opinion i!!! have found that anything over 6gig is a nono! that is watching it on my 32"hitachi,cyberhome 528 etc etc,but having said all that i use cce anyway.In the end its all down to you and what you think.

CCE for something like a tv series boxset with extras? I would use cce if the big three method wasn't so time consuming and I didn't have such hit and miss results - like having scenarist refuse to author something I just spent 6 hours encoding for no apparent reason. Not fun. The nearly dvd9 size blanks can't come soon enough, too bad it will probably be a long wait before they're affordable.
