Probs in DVDLab with motion menus

I did as the tutorial said, and I can get the buttons to kind of show up in "normal mode" only on top of the motion video (as a subpic I believe is how it is done?), but I do not have any functionality of the buttons. I used .mpg and demuxed .mpv files with and without .mpa files for the background. I opened up the compiled vobs in MenuEdit, but it shows no buttons in the menu to edit, so something seems to not be adding the buttons on the compile? It works wonderfully in DVDLab's "simulation". I assume motion menus actually work, so any help on what I may be doing wrong would be, uh..., helpfull.
