Hello All,

I've just read aac audio faq 9. I made some tests.

I've got both the .mp4 file and the .aac file encoded with Nero 6.3.0.2.

1. Drag 'n' drop in Graphedit the mp4 file. Play, properties in CoreAAC (1.0b8) and I see AAC+SBR, as exptected.

2. Drag 'n' drop in Graphedit the adts .aac file from Nero, the ISO 13818-7 track (MPEG2 with ADTS headers). Play, properties in CoreAAC and I see AAC Main. First question: is it correct ?

3. Ivan & Menno, version 2.0.1 with mp4creator60 version1.0. Added the mp4 file. MP4 creator tab, option "List tracks in MP4/M4A files", go. The result: type audio, MPEG-4 AAC LC. Second question: correct ?
Too many profiles all around ?

Third question is: what is the option to check in order to have a raw aac stream ? I'd like to mux the aac audio track within an AVI container. In all the combinations I always have an aac file with ADTS headers (in graphedit the file fires up the AAC parser)

Thanks

Regards

Geza

Yes, modern tools with the MP4 file format.

No, its not correct, but .aac can't adequately represent HE-AAC, so don't use .aac! Use mp4!

A program which doesn't know about HE-AAC won't know about HE-AAC... If something doesn't know about HE-AAC then it would think the stream was LC-AAC

You really shouldn't be muxing AAC into AVI

Ok, I made some tests. I think tools for mp4 need some more time.
Mp4UI when muxing loses the SBR part. I tried also the 3ivx muxer but graphedit crashed after ~30MBs. So I'd like to have a raw aac stream and try with amimux...Subtitles are important to me and I found ogm the best solution ( I usually put 2 tracks inside). Unfortunately the ogg splitter development seems stopped and OggMux supports only LC AAC. Anyway, I'm going off topic.

Do you know a good solution for converting the iso aac track from Nero to raw ? And how ? I have no no idea about using Ivan & Menno ! It seems option lacking....

Thanks
