Good day everyone :)
I've run into a bit of a snag while upgrading a Win 2000 box and could use some assistance. I've had this box up and running for about 2 yrs with a ATI Tv Wonder (using BTwincap driver) installed alongside a Radeon VE. I just recently picked up an Asus V8200 Deluxe card and first messed around with it in my old Win 98 box (using the Asus WDM 1.04G drivers from the CD rom). The quality of the caps seemed to be better than the ATI (less noise) and so I decided to upgrade my Win 2000 box.
I went through the uninstallation process in Win 2000 getting rid of the Radeon drivers and then running the BTwincap install program and had it uninstall the drivers for the ATI. I then shutdown and removed the TV Wonder and restarted (with the Radeon still in the box) and made sure it came up under the standard graphics adapter. Everything seemed to be fine so I shutdown again and removed the Radeon and installed the V8200. The system came up and I installled the latest reference driver from Nvidia (5.3.0.3) and restarted.
I found on on the Win 98 box that the supplied WDM 1.04G driver didnt seem to be macrovision aware (I was experimenting backing up some VHS movies from the 80's) so I figured I'd install the same version # of the driver on the Win 2000 box. I popped in the CD and ran the install (for the WDM driver) and restarted. I first tried Virtual VCR and it said it couldnt find the device, then I went to WinDVR as well as Vdud and none of them could initialize the capture. (I ever tried the Asus Digital VCR app on the CD which loads the WDM drivers) Thinking that everything was going smoothly before, I went to the "device manager" and looked under the sound, video controllers. The drivers didnt appear, all I have is a listing for "Legacy Video Capture Devices" and the properties for it says "WDM Video For Windows Capture Driver (Win32). I thought maybe something glitched during the WDM install so I did it again and still the drivers dont showup in the device manager.
I've unstalled and installed the drivers (even tried the VFW drivers supplied on the CD rom) and nothing appears to work. I'd really like to use this card in this box so I dont have the filesize limitations of fat 32.
1. Has anyone run into this problem before and rectified it?
2. Are there any newer Asus/Nvidia WDM drivers that are not macrovision aware?
3. Would I be better off slicking the drive and reinstalling Win 2000, or I've got a Win XP Home vers. CD that I purchased back when it first came out (not knowing it didnt support all my hardware at the time) would I have better luck in Xp trying to get the card to work?

"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/httpd/docs/vbb/search.php on line 410"
