Desired final size > 2100 MB

How to calculate?
Minicalc and NiTroGen's BitrateCalculator only let me to set maximum file size up to 2100 MB. When I select over 2100 in Minicalc I get negative values (bug?).
I want to encode 2 TV shows to DVD, each about 2240 MB.
Audio is 96 kbps Mp3 cbr, res 720x576, length 1.29 h

Couldn't find any info using serch button, sorry if I miss some thread.

Just calculate for (e.g) 1100 MB
(you can type 1100 directly in the field)
and then add 1024000 kb to the result size.

1060637 + 1024000 = 2084637 Kb

since you don't change film length, FPS or audio bitrate,
the more space is available the more it goes to video size.

(However I doubt if Xvid (or Windows) is able to handle
files > 2 Gb.

That is completely incorrect. Both XviD and Windows can handle 2+GB files.

Yes, Ive some AVI files with a size around 3.8GB on my HD, and all of them play fine... ;)

Only bad thing, you can not burn files bigger than 2GB to DVD-R's !!! :(

For the thing with the size calculation...
Bitrate (kbps) * Duration (secs) * 1024 / 8 / 1024 / 1024 = Size (MB)

You can use this of course the reverse way...
Don't know if this is really right... My math skills suck !!! :D

Bah, didn't know that, but... I'll go for two files at 1120 MB. Muxed in Matroska should play fine.

Yes for AVI, but no for XviD or Windows.

Only bad thing, you can not burn files bigger than 2GB to DVD-R's !!!
You can always split into several files and use playlists (or mux into Matroska and use file linking feature, but no spliter can use it now AFAIK, nevertheless it is a matter of time).

No for AVI - OpenDML AVI files handle files >2GB nicely.

You can burn over 2 GB to DVD-R.
Use UDF file system in nero. I don't remember accurate info about this, but it is possible. I had 2700 megs for AVI and used Xvid and CBR MP3.

Just installed GKnot and now I'm able to calculate desired size over 2100 MB.

Yes, I always split the files into 2-3 chapters, but only at fade-outs or rough breaks in the movie... ;)
