Video(from tv) to VCD

I want to take a video (on video tape) from the television and burn it on a disk as a VCD.

I have no idea of what I need to do this (ie:capture cards etc),or how to do it,any advice greatly appreciated.

using the search button might help you. you can also try www.dvdrhelp.com they have alot of guides to help you. there's lots of video capture devices so you will get many opinions. Once you gets your vids captured to your pc converting is the easy part there's all kinds of guides on this site that can help you.

There's tons of information out there, it's just finding it that is the tricky part.

I always liked Lukes Video Guide (http://www.lukesvideo.com/) for information on capturing and encoding. It struck me as very newbie-friendly when I first started learning this stuff.
