hi all,
as far as my researches here have gone, I've understood that converting *.avi movies (generaly divx) to DVD implies at any rate using AVI2DVD (SVCD2DVD bundle) with CCE or TMPGEnc, right? (or is there any other way round?).
Now at a point I get the usual bbMPEG-Muxed_File00.mpg (which I guess is made up of file Encoded_Video_CCE_PAL.mpv and Encoded_audio_1.mp2 together).
Then I don't see how to proceed so to have *.vob files and burn them with Nero6. My authoring software (SpruceUp and Pinnacle Studio 8) don't take these files so I'm stuck.
Thanks for any tip and if you think this is not the right place or the right way to ask, thanks also for telling me.

I haven't tried SpruceUp or Pinnacle Studio 8.
I am doing my DVD authoring with TMPGEnc DVD Author and I haven't had, so far, any problems like the ones you mention.

That should be the easiest way, yes. Thanks for any tip and if you think this is not the right place or the right way to ask, thanks also for telling me.
Cinta Right way, yes, as you have tried it, and don't know what to do of it. Right place, no, as this is posted in the DivX encoding section. Your problem is better handled in the DVD Authoring forum, where I'm moving this thread right now.

this sounds like the same issues i have been running into also. i can get the .mpv and ac3 files but have nothing that will work with thenm to create the vob set. i have attempet using the latest ifoedit but it seems it will not accept the .mpv renamed to .m2v that cce creates. so i guess my question is will this tmpgenc accept me renaming the cce created .mpv renamed to .m2v and work with it? if it wont then i guess my next try will be use tmpgenc for the encoding and hopefully it will output a .m2v file that will be compatable. i use dvd2svcd set up as avi input to dvd output. and choose to not make cdimage. anyother advice would sure be a welcome treet to me :)

thanks,
Doug

after following the advice from Sphinx No. 4, i have now gotten the results i was looking for. i will give a basic outline of what my steps were and i found a great guide that will explain it much better than i can.

use dvd2svcd, running avi as input and dvd as output.
find the guide for this procedure on doom9. they explain the settings batter than i ever could as a newbie.

the key diff is in the cdimage tab dot the "dont make image"

when its all done go into the folder you saved everything to and rename the pulldown.encoded vidio.mpv to pulldown.encoded vidio.m2v

the next part you will need besliced.exe

drag the "encoded audio.ac3 file if you have that into besliced window, and click fix

the result will be a "same file name_fixed.ac3" file

run tmpgenc dvd author and choose the renamed pulldown...m2v for the vidio and the fixed ac3 file as the audio source.

i recived a warning screen and hit ignore. 'following instructions i found in a guide'.

end result was a simple easy process and an excellent looking set of vob files with surround sound 6ch.

i have the link to the guide but i am not sure if i am allowed to paste it in here. if i get an admin to send me the ok i will edit this with the link for the guide.

i hope a link that is not on doom9's excelent site is allowed?
