problem with colours

1º first, i'm sorry because my english is not good :)

It's not first time that i convert a movie and the colours of the SVCD is changed...
who can explain me , and waht i have to change in software , for that doesn't happen...
i converted avi to svcd...
the avi is good quality and colour to, but when i convert the colours changed..

There is a bug in some versions of the DivX codec that cause this.
Use Windows Media Player to open your avisynth_script_file.avs

If that plays funny, open the avisnth script file again but this time using notepad. Insert the line

SwapUV()

before the ConvertToYUY2 line.

Try again in Media Player. If it now plays properly, use the Recover feature in DVD2SVCD to restart from Video Encoding. It should now work.

Alternatively you might try updating the relevant codec to the latest version.

but it happens in some movies, i've just converted some 30 movies , and so 2 movies happened this, the colour changed after the conversion...

Now i'm trying convert the movie with a simple resize...

Hi!

Can it be, that U use TMPEG and the source is Xvid? These two does not like to work together.

If so, this helped me:
Use FFdshow. Download & install.

Or just use Ace mega codec pack (include Xvid codec and ffdshow), also free.
If U choose the latter, uninstall all codecs befor installing ACEMCP.

A couple of things,

There is a sticky about problems with avi2svcd. Did you try the recommendations there?

If you tried adding the SwapUV() command to your avisynth script what happened? A little feedback is always helpful...

As for codecs, get the latest DivX codec from divx.com.
My recommended XviD collection reside here (http://nickspage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/WESTWORLD/XviDCodecPack.zip)

I have used this collection of codecs with CCE successfully many times.

I have similar problems since i changed from version 1.09 to 121.b3.

The colors are not right anymore when TMPGEnc is encoding the movie.
I did a DivX to SVCD before and that one was alright.

The movie plays fine and with the right colors is WMP. Also in all other players I've tried.

At the moment I am encoding with CCE, I'll hope this will help.

I looked into the suggestion made above, to edit the *.avs file. But that is only generated while converting the movie. How can i edit it while the conversion is in process. Is that not a problem ?

you have to stop after it started encoded in CCE..
then you go to the file and put the line , after you put you have to click in file that appears in CCE and click ENCODE

I just stopped the encoding and see what you mean.

Editted the file and just press encode.

Now I'll have to wait for the result.

Like you I only have this problem with 2 movies (until now)
These are Toystory 1 and 2

OK, The colors are fine now, but the sound and the subtitles are both out of sync.

Then I tried TMPGEnc, but when you stop that one, dvd2svcd just continues.

I'll have to try other things.

OK. Now I have tried to use it with the Canopus encoder. Still the same problem. It is probably caused by AviSynth 2.52. But first I installed DVD2SVCD 121b3. With AviSynth 2.08. That's is running at the moment, and the colors are OK.

Later I will resinstall 121b3 with AviSynth 2.08 and see what happens.
