can I make a WMV to VCD ???

Using EO Video 1.36 (because it is fully functional on a trial basis) I am converting some 40meg wmv files to mpeg for VCD use. It goes fine but every now and then I get a very short pause in the sound, maybe a second or less but it is quite noticable. I converted the same file twice and it is pretty much getting the issues in almost the exact same places in both files. There isn't really much I can change in EO to adjust the conversion of the sound, although based on my very limited knowledge I doubt much is changed, but obviously something cause the .mpeg sound is poor compared to the .wmv.

Any tips on technique or software to eliminate this issue ?

I tried using TMPGEnc 2.5 and stopped it because it wanted to take 4 hours for a 22 minute file. When I decided do a complete project with TMPGEnc the sound dropped out totally after about 15 seconds????

Why do you wanna make mpeg audio files for a vcd?
I don't know any solution, but i'd say: make a mp3 cd or something,
or do you want it to play the cd on your standalone (which doesnt support mp3 then)?
In that case you should make a vcd indeed..

Yep, I make most of my mpeg or avi video clips into VCDs to watch on my DVD player in the lving room. I tried a few things and I think I just have to be happy with the occasional drop of sound for a whole second....hard life huh ;)
