I recently bought a Dazzle DVC 150 external USB 2.0 video capture device. It only captures MPEG1 or MPEG2 video (no AVI), and has some hardware compression.
Anyway, I want to convert my old VHS tapes to DVD. The problem is that the crappy software that came with the device was the only thing I found that can capture MPEG2 video. I tried VirtualDub, but it obviously did not work. Then I searched the net (that includes this forum) for an MPEG2 capture software but unfortunately I couldn't find anything that works for MPEG2.

Also, I was thinking of doing some basic editing to the video (just cut off some stuff and perhaps add some transition effects) before burning, but I don't quite know how to do this.

Can someone help me out?

I too went searching for alternative software for my capture card. I have a PVR-250 from Hauppauge and I really don't like the WinTV200 interface. I havn't had much luck either.
