not possible atm, as it is not possible to wrap the rv stream back into the *.rm container again

I think that the bigger question is why anyone would want to do that.

The very reason there is no tool for that yet, is there was no use for it until now ....

But there may be reasons to do it. Remember there are more Real Players than MKV players (for specific platforms like PocketPC, etc.)

Mosu told me few month ago that he could add this feature in mmg.
But it's not his priority.....

Good reason to demux rv9 from mkv :
1) I mux rv9 + audio + subs in mkv
2) Mmg says muxing went fine and I get no errors or warnings
3) I delete rmvb, audio, subs files and keep only mkv file
4) I try to play mkv file with MPC and it crashes
5) I inform Mosu about possible bug and he says that the only way to track this and maybe fix it requires sample files to test and try to find the prob with mkvmerge
6) Ofcourse I am unable to provide him with theese files unless I am able to demux rv9 from matroska
The above scenario is real and has happened though I never managed to reproduce it as all other muxing efforts were successfull (thank Mosu...)

@ChristianHJW: The question has been asked in a previous thread. It was not about Real video but Real audio (director's comment at really low bitrate; even lower than 35kbps of ogg). I've been interested in extracting streams but with other source than real. So if it happened by the past, it would probably happen in the future with Real content...
I remember, the reason that was given: MKV is suppose to be a versatile container, not a locker. ;) (heh no offense here!)
BTW: it's my 1st reply since the new year, so happy new year to all of you! :p I continue to believe in Matroska, cause its the best so far!
