View Full Version : Besweet AC3 => MP3 Conversion Stutters At End

Sorry if I missed a different thread that talks about this (and if this should be in the GK section - was unsure).

Quick specs: GK v0.28.7.2 (and everything that comes with it, i.e. Bsweet v1.5b23, DVD2Avidg 1.77.3dg1.0.0.RC2, etc)

Anyway, the problem I'm seeing is that after DVDDectypting and DVD2Avidg'ing the source (tv broadcast to my Video DVD recorder [not a PC tv capture]) I'm using GK to handle "everything" from the Divx encodes, AC3 -> MP3 encodes, final mux, etc.

What I'm seeing that the .MP3 files created by BeSweet v1.5b23 (through the GK scripts) have a stutter at the end of the .MP3 file (ex. "in the next scen[Duh-Duh][Duh-Duh]), unless the source AC3 file ended on a silent section.

After playing around with BeSweet manually, it looks like the "sutter" happens if the delay is not added. I get the stutter every time I try a AC3->MP3 without it, but it's fine if I add it. The problem is that GK seems to just have BeSweet encode the file straight and adds the delay (via interleave?) when muxing the final [filename]_movie.ave and .MP3 at the end.

I've ended up just re-encoding the AC3 files with the delay and then VDubMod muxing the video/audio back together manually at this point. I'm keeping the MP3 files CBR, too.

So, I guess my question(s)/hope is to find out if I'm doing something wrong so that I don't have to manually re-BeSweet each AC3 file and re-Mux the audio and video for every encode I do.?.? Should that "stutter" be in the .MP3 file after a straight/non-delayed encode via BeSweet?

Any help/imparting of wisdom is appreciated (especially if it helps me stay lazy and do as little "by hand" stuff as possible.)

Here's a copy of one of the GK .log files (=bad) and just a manual BeSweet encode (=good). I see that the "-ota( -hybridgain )" switch is missing the delay in the GK .log.
