I'm trying to backup my dvd of Spiderman. The import from script into Scenarist went fine. However, in Layout Editor when I select DVD Video and click Start, I receive the following errors almost immediately:

...
Warning Sub-Picture (stream 5 in Track "VTS_06_PGC_01") is across scene boundary at 01:01:22:16
Error 'Cell:"VTS_06_PGC_02_cell001"PGC:<VTS_06_PGC_02pgc> (Title:<VTS06_Title02> VTS:<VTS_06>) ' does not have a scene. (Dummy Cell)
Error 'Cell:"VTS_06_PGC_02_cell002"PGC:<VTS_06_PGC_02pgc> (Title:<VTS06_Title02> VTS:<VTS_06>) ' does not have a scene. (Dummy Cell)
Error 'Cell:"VTS_06_PGC_02_cell003"PGC:<VTS_06_PGC_02pgc> (Title:<VTS06_Title02> VTS:<VTS_06>) ' does not have a scene. (Dummy Cell)
Error PreCheck From DB failed
Error DVD files could not be created
...

I found 2 possible answers in the forum.

1. "After creating the track, instead of drag-drop it on title1 folder, I was putting it on PGC, so it was giving 33 chapters with no scene."

-However, I didnt use the drag/drop manual method, I used Reauthorist and imported from script.

2. Trilight said, "simply drag the video asset out so that it is long enough that Scenarist doesn't bitch."

-How do you do this exactly?

I am very new to doing things the correct way; I used to be a butcher. Please be easy on me.

The DVD in the post above was Bedazzled. On Spiderman, I receive the following error in the Scenarist Layout Editor:

Info Encoding subpicture D:\DVDtmp\VTS01\SUBS\VTS_01_VSUB_P1A1-04\VTS_01_VSUB_P1A1-04-English_11223.bmp

I found 1 match in the forum.

1. "...If I go back to ReAuthorist and author it w/ out the subtitle track, the import works fine. Is there anyway I can rectify this minor snafu?"
**He says this was during an import but I believe it was during the Layout Editor process because he shows the exact error as above. No answer was ever given to his question.**

-When I zoom to the subpicture in the Track Editor ('Engli_582' and 'Engli_583' area), the names under each pink block section appear jumbled as if there were more than 1 subtitle per block. I only see a very small amount of Subpicture blocks (either Eng, Spa, or Fre) where I CAN actually read the name completely. Should I be able to see each name separately?

-When I can click the pink block where 'Engli_582' resides, it shows 00:19:34:17 as Start Time To Video, 00:00:00:00 as Start Time, and 00:00:01:29 as Duration. Next to 582, 583 shows 00:19:36:17 as Start Time To Video, 00:00:00:00 as Start Time, and 00:00:01:29 as Duration.

How do I fix these so it will mux properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated on either of these issues!

In Bedazzled, do the logical thing and add a scene.

In Spiderman, the subs you are seeing are used for forced subs and button over video subs. It sounds like what you are seeing is a sub that has a forced sub over top of it. I have never seen this, so I wouldn't know what to do with it yet. I have bought Spiderman, but never bothered backing it up. It would be trickier than normal though, as there's the "Spider Sense" feature (using button over video). Read the button over video guides on Doom9 for a better understanding of the task you are undertaking. I've only done a handful of button over video DVDs, but I can tell you that once you get one working, it's a great feeling of empowerment :D
