Keeping Menus and Extras or Not ?

Hi Everybody,

I just want to know your preference. Do you keep menus and Extras or do you just like to keep the Movie only to get a better quality ? I just think that when you want to watch a movie, it's to watch the movie itself, isn't ? And not to lose time choosing Start Movie or wich language and all... And how much people does care about Extras ? Do you care ? Leaving just the movie let's your movie start immediately after inserting the DVD just like our old Video Tapes :) Isn't great ?

If I can get the main movie to be under 10% compression with menus, I would just shrink it without reauthoring in DVD Shrink. If the compression is higher than 10 percent, I would use reauthor. If I reauthor and the movie is still worse than 10% without end credits, etc, I would use DVD Shrink to split the movie to two dvd's, and put some extras on the second dvd.

Menus are nice, but having a significant amount of compression with menus isn't worth it.

this all comes down to what every person percieves as acceptable quality. me i dont' mind keeping a menu and compressing by 30 or 40 percent, i usually watch my movies on a regular tv. each person will probably tell you something different

I used to do all my backups "Movie Only".

But now I tend to remove the extra features, remove the buttons and then use DVDShrink to remove unwanted audio tracks and compress it if need be.

Assuming the menus are not massive I don't mind having to compress slightly more in order to keep them. Its just nice to jump to a menu and wait for interaction rather than jumping straight into the film. A matter of preference I guess.

I remove everything, since menus are sometimes annoying and having to wait for animation is a pain. Sometimes, I just want the movie to popup fast.. so i'd rather not have menus.

Movie only is the best for me.. i also remove all audio tracks cept English and keep all subtitles.

I also remove the layer break.

What's the Layer Break please ? And how do you remvoe it and why ? Thx. I'm new in Movie Backup.
