I just put together an old 900MHz AMD
The problem is that when i boot I get this error "NTLDR missing"
and I have to reboot. Does anyone have a clue what NTLDR is. I don`t, please help me. :(

Your WinNT / XP / 2000 installation is corrupted - just format and reinstall.
There is probably a way to fix it but I dont have a clue how to do it.
I usually run back a ghost image I created ages ago.

Huh?
Maybe you should format the partition and install an OS then?

Google is all powerful.

Hopefully this link (http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/n1054875705) can help you.

How is that possible if I can`t make the damn thing boot from anything? Not even my 1.44 diskdrive

Hmm ok now I understand... oddly enough it shouldn do so coz the bios doesnt have ntboot-loader stuff and should say "No system disk..."

If you can boot with a CD/floppy and try to format (completely) the drive. If thats not possible try to format it in another computer.
There is obviously something wrong with the boot order / your hard disk. I dont see the problem getting solved until you fix the drive by installing an OS / formatting it.

It's likely that your BIOS is set to boot up off the HD first, and FDD second from the scenario you describe. So, when your HD is installed, it attempts to boot, reads the boot sector from the previous installation of your HD, but doesn't find the attached OS which gives the NT loader error (NTLDR).

You can boot off an installation CD, as commie was saying, to reinstall an OS. You'll need to go into your BIOS and make sure that the computer will try to boot off a CD or floppy before it attempts to boot off the HD.

There are other options (discussed in the link I posted), but this is the easiest.

I can’t change the Boot order so I simply disabled the HD-boot and then I was able to boot from my XP-Disk. I installed the OS and everything is now working perfect. I still can’t boot from my FDD, its working fine though.

Thanks everybody for fast and pro. advice :D You’re great.
