I'm trying to get movie playback running on an XDA2, but things just don't seem to be going my way. The XDA2 runs WinCE (yeah, I know, but I can't be returned if it's got symbian on it), so I downloaded and installed PocketMVP, which claims to be able to playback xvid, but has very few specifics on it.
I would like to be able to playback xvid specifically, because I'd be mostly using it for cartoons, but if I could get divX working it would be a good start. I've been testing with Family Guy Season 2, and here's what I've found:
Encoding with xvid-b3 at 200kbits, no b-frames, no qpel, etc. just won't play back at all, it green screens and you have to restart.
Encoding with xvid kopei 24062003 (settings as above) results 2 or 3 of corrupt images, and a green screen
Encoding with xvid kopei 24062003 with anything that might possibly cause problems (lumi-masking, chroma motion, etc) switched off and the fourCC set to DIVX just didn't play back at all.
Of course, it might be the audio I'm using, which is Radium MPEG3 24kbits, mono, 8-bit @ 22,500Hz, but since its not much good to me without the sound I haven't tested it with no sound yet, however I'm open to suggestion on this too.
Any help appreciated, many thanks,
