I have heard many times how P4's, equal spec to an AMD system, will fall behind in games but always come out on top with encoding.
Because of this i am considering putting together a P4 system for the sole purpose of encoding ( a house full of AMD's :D)
But also, i hear and briefly experienced Linux to be alot faster at encoding.
But is Linux run on a P4 faster then an AMD running Linux or is the P4 over AMD encoding advantage only true in Windows with SEE2 optimised code ???
any info would be appreciated.
thanx
