Hi!
I've got an annoying problem. My DVD burner fails to burn DVD. I've tried to burn a movie in diffrente ways a million times, but it won't work. For example CloneDVD (whish earlier have worked for my just fine about 30-40 times before) gives me a "WriteDVD" error.
Other progs like dvd decrypter just hangs when the burning process is about to begin.

So.. I thought, have the burner gone mad? But ordinarie CD-R burns just fine, and I even tried to burn a DVD+RW which also came out okay (!).
Is there anyone that had the same problem? I got a NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A burner (which only burns DVD+R/RW discs, not DVD-R/RW).

Do you think it's the burner that just don't gonna burn DVD+R's? Cause it worked just fine, but I think it was sometime after I've uninstalled Easy CD/DVD Creator it failed to burn.
Or is it my DVD+R's (Memorex DVD (spinnel)) I want to blame?

Appreciate all the help I can get!!!

/Dreas

And oh.. sorry for my bad english :)

If everything else burns OK, my first thought is bad +R media.
I would definitely try another disc from a different manufacturer before jumping to the conclusion your drive may be faulty.

I can't imagine that EasyDVD Creator has deinstalled anything important that would stop other applications working but as a last resort see if reinstalling it helps.

Thanks for the reply!
I'll tests some other manufacturer, but the strange thing is that it has worked fine before with the exact same type of dvd+r media!
I've already tested reinstalling EasyDVD, but with no results.

I don't have to update the firmware or anything? Hope not.
Well, off buying new DVD+R discs.. any recommendations??

Thanks!

hate to be the barer of badd news but it looks like you will have to reinstall your windows. I have had a simalar problem with my nec1300a, and was told to clean my registry and if that did not work to reinstall windows. what I would recomend is bite the bullet formatt your hdd, reinstall windows (if xp use ntfs)install all the latest drivers and updates. then install the burning program you want to use. and be carefull wen you uninstall, and install diffrent burning programs (easy cd/dvd creator, nero) you could have problems. so what ever backup guide you are going to use, download all the programs you need and use the burning software the guide recomends. difrent backup programs are more compatable with cirtin burning programs.everyone may not agree with this, but this is how I solved my problems. some times a clean install of your op system does the trick.

p.s. I have great sucess using dvd shrink, nero6, memorex dvd r's 200+ backups, 2 coasters (my fault) 2 coasters bad media

You might want to consider taking a Norton Ghost image of the freshly installed System (prior to the burner software install)if you decide to follow darkangle73's advice - then it wouldn't be such a pain to start again if there was a problem.

Just a thought.
