Q: How to generate my own Celltimes.txt

Hi all,

Happy new year !

I´ve searched the forum but didn´t really find an answer to my question. I want to use Ifoedit for mastering my VHS->DVD conversions as I put a full movie to a DVD-R. I´ve written a small app that generates a "Celltime.txt" based on duration and the steps you set.

Unfortunately the resulting mastered DVD doesn´t have any chapter points. I don´t get this. If I completely master a new DVD, using my own chapter points shouldn´t be a problem, shouldn´t it ?

Generating individual chapters is sometimes also needed when doing a 2xDVD to 1xDVD-R conversion (i.e. LOTR).

What makes me wonder:
The Celltimes.txt for LOTR: The Two Towers extended looks like that.

That is really strange because the movie is only 153269 frames long.
Can someone help ?

I have just come across the same problem. I have authored a new DVD with IfoEdit 0.94 and imported a list of frame numbers for chapters.
However, the resulting DVD does not contain any chapters.
Can anyone get this to work?

Not sure but I think there is a problem with NTSC here - PAL works for me.

Thanks for your answer ! I didn´t mention it: I´m also doing PAL DVDs. Did you create your "Celltimes.txt" by hand ? If yes, what was your highest "chapter value".

I have now got this to work. The first chapter in my file was at frame 0. I deleted this entry and tried again, now the DVD has chapters.

By the way, I'm using ver 0.96, not 0.94 as I stated above.

EDIT: I have just noticed that the resulting DVD does still have the first chapter at frame 0, and chapter 2 is at the first frame number in my text file.

Yep the beginning is always a chapter - bit like Audio CDs (apart from bonus tracks of course)
