something incredible when playback a avi file while opening the d2v

hello everyone, sorry for my poor english and 'cause that's not my native langluage.

i found the problem have been discussed several times here, when playback a encoded avi file, whatever divx encoded or xvid, i found the image became darker than the source, especially the red color, it become dark, and with blocks around it. today i open the dvd2avi, and open a mpeg2 file in it, and then i forget it, and i open a avi file encoded with xvid with media player classic, something incredible happens, nolonger the dark image, and the darker red and the blocks, but it can't be zoomed. i thought it was the DirectX acceleration, can anyone give me an explain?

and now i have another question, when i play an mpeg2 file with windvd, and the color problem has gone, how could windvd do that?

i think i have got the point, i tested on my machine with a Geforce 2MX400. the color is not correct when using the later drivers such as 45.23, but when i use the driver 15.70, and change to overlay mode 1 in bsplayer, the problem has gone. even if play an avi file in media player classic the red blocks are much less then useing the later drivers, and it looks much lighter than before.

For some strange reason NVidia has decided to have all kind of different default settings in the overlay color-correction. VERY annoying. Some of the latest versions even had different settings between different types of overlays. EXTREMELY annoying!

Find some good reference material to adjust your settings.
