It also has a sitcky FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32575) for newbies like you on the scene.
BTW, please review the Forum rules again as you have missed out on a couple of them, especially #1.;)
1) Read up before asking! There are tons of guides, FAQs and each forum has a dedicated Q&A thread with additional info.
1a) Use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered.r deleted without warning.
9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.
Nothing personal. Just pointing out the rules that I didn't write. Even I am not immune to them. ;)

In addition, Allen, there is a Capture Guide (http://www.doom9.org/capture/start.html) maintained by the capture folks but included in Doom9's main website.
It covers capture to AVI, and covers several post-processing options, but doesn't include DVD. To go from AVI to DVD there are three additional guides I'd recommend. Doom9 has two different AVI -> DVD guides on his Format Conversions (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm) page. And bb, one of our illustrious moderators, has a very nice DV -> DVD guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60392) kept in the forum. DV is a special form of AVI file, so not everthing in that guide will apply, but it may help.
