This is my handeware. DVD-ROM CDRW-ROM I have been using DVD2SVCD 1.2.1 Build 3 Bundle to rip dvd's to cdr's. For some silly reason
the encoding is not good. I have been using CinemaCraft.Encoder.SP.v2.64.01.02 for along time with DVD2SVCD with out any prolems. Now when I try encoding with it. Boy does it suck. Well with out fail I tried other encoders TMPGEnc_Plus_Ver.2.58.44. 152 well this encoder really took along time and the video was so bad my computer almost went out the window.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Or tell me what packs of dvd to svcd & the encoder I should be using?

I have p4 1.8 gig gforce2 512 of ram. If anyone know what I should be using please drop me a line at gottojetit@yahoo.com

Please don't tell me to read some more guides I have already been reading for the last 3 weeks. If you could just give me a hand with the software & the versions of the software I should be using. I can take it from there. I could use one link to for the setting if there is a link for the software you post. I might need a little help with the settings

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

There are 2 forums here specifically related to DVD2SVCD.
Problem posts belong in Basic. Perhaps one of the mods here could move it for you.

Meantime, read the FAQ's and stickies in the DVD2SVCD basic forum - you may find your answer there, or at least learn how to structure a problem post better to help others help you.

A couple of things to chew over in the meantime...
If the problem is bad playback of the burned CD's it could be bad media - it seems more probable than both CCE and TMPG suddenly becoming lousy quality. Get DAEMON Tools if you don't have it. It creates a virtual DVD ROM drive on your machine. Install and run, click the red "lightening" icon that appears in your tray next to the clock and browse for the CD_Image_file_1.cue file.

Now with no discs in the physical drives, launch your DVD playing software. The SVCD will play from the image file. If this is OK the encoding went well and the problem is with the burn. If not we need your logfile to see your settings.

Cheers
Nick
