I have tried the latest version of Pinnacle Instant copy, however it does not recognise my ASUS DVD ROM

The other program I have is Clone DVD V2.1 (latest I think)

This managed to recognize my DVD rom and make an image file of a DVD

When I get my DVD burner I guess I will just select the image as the source and burn a duplicate DVD

My question is will Clone DVD make an EXACT copy of the DVD Movie and will the quality be the SAME
Or should I use the FREEWARE DVD Decrypter

Or is there abetter option ????

I want to 1 > back up my movie collection in case of future damage and 2 > later transfer home 8mm Movies to DVD, although I think I`d be better off with two different programs that perform these different functions better

Thanks

If you are trying to archive your collection of copyrighted dvd's then it gets a little more difficult.

As you will notice, DVD-R's and DVD+R's are only 4.7GB, wheras a commercial DVD is over 7GB usually.

You will have to use a program like DVDShrink to rip and decrypt the dvd, and compress the video to make it fit onto your 4.7GB disc.

I use DVDShrink, then use IMGTool Classic to make an image file, then use Dameon Tools to view the image to test it out, then finally burn with something like DVDDecryptor or Nero 6 Ultra.
