Are there any tools for analysing mkv files? Both Gspot and Divx DRF Analyzer only work with avi files. I'm currently testing mkv files because of proper b-frame support, but I can't test the files like I could with my avi files.

MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net)

mkvinfo (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/index.html#dlinst_win32)

mkvverify (http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/%7Enoe/Video-Zeug/AVIMux%20GUI/index-eng.html)

matroska shell extension (http://cdl.matroska.org)

Please not that proper b-frame support will only be possible in so-called 'native MPEG4 MKV files' which will be possible with next release of mkvmerge ( 0.8.0 )

Thanks, I've been looking for something besides VirtualDubMod to analyze MKV files. MediaInfo worked great.

is there a tool available to see and edit every tag available for every stream of a matroska file?

I use VirtualDubMod to view/edit the tags.
