This may be a trivial question however I am a relatively new encoder thus the annoying questions.

I have done some test on various matrix such as Andreas Einfache 99er and Andreas Doppelte 99er and have noticed excellent qualities in some of these for specific scenes/ movies. However on Andreas Einfache 99er I noticed it wasnt very good at dealing with minute contrasted detailed (like text on screen specifying location or subtitles or ending credits even )... is it possible to encode the movie in multiple parts using the appropriate matrix for each section and the bind them together to 1 file ? is that possible ? or is it not possible to have 2 different Matrixes within one container file ?

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but AFAIK switching matrices within the same stream is not mpeg4 compliant.
xvid once had the option to choose either between mpeg or h.263 matrices, depending on the quant used. IIRC this feature was removed for the reason obove.

Discarding compliancy/ standards I think I am going to have to try it when I get the opportunity... however for playback on the PC is it likely to work using/ referring to the right matrix used by each segment ?
