What country are you in?

look it up in a TV system table. The first one google got is http://shop.store.yahoo.com/salestores/woreltab.html (this) one.

i'm from austria... but it's a camcorder and i don't know what to take. is there a way to find out which one is ok.
btw the table says: "B.G/PAL" this doesn't help me very much...
but thx anyway

In that case PAL_B should be ok. The Netherlands is also PAL B/G and PAL_B works for me :)

[Edit]
The differences between the flavours of PAL are mainly important for broadcast. When connecting equipment, mostly there are only two things important: the line system used (625/50 or 525/60) and the color coding (PAL or NTSC).
In your case, probably most PAL versions will work, apart from some exotic versions which use PAL color coding with NTSC line timing like in brazil.

So in short: PAL_B should work ok.
