Hey,
I'm trying to make a rip of the tartan asia extreme title "The Happiness of the Katakuris". Normal deinterlacing leaves duplicate frames and jerky motion and it seems to me like a bad telecine.

I tried out decomb's telecine command anyway, but there are still duplicate frames. However, there seems to be no pattern to them - how can I apply a random decimation instead of a pattern based one?

I've done my Homework, and smartdecimate seemed like a good choice. Unfortuantley it crashes vdubmod for some reason (no error message, straight back to desktop), anyone know why? The main problem I have is that I want to retain the original frame rate of 25 FPS, so i'm not strictly decimating. Ideally I need a filter that will detect the bad duplicates and replace them with blends. The best one I've found so far is decimate(cycle=6,mode1). If anyone can come up with some suggestions that would be great.
Thanks alot :)

P.S I found a very interesting thread concerning a script called "restore24". But it uses smartdecimate so I can't test it right now, has smartdecimate got any problems with the newest version of avisynth or gordianknot package?

You have to remove the plugin from the plugin dir (this is the case for all C-plugins), and load it manually with LoadPlugin.
