How do I check dye type for a dvdr disc ?

What program is best to identify dye type. I have some unbranded discs. They burn fine at 4x with no errors.

I have tried DvdinfoPro but it says the discs are unknown.

Forum member gooki posted this information for identifying disc manufacturers using DVD Decrypter, March 25, 2003. Once you've identified your media, maybe you can track down the dye from there?

Put the disc in your writer, load dvd decrypter, select mode\iso\write and it will show you the manufacturer id.
