hello I haven't found anything like this before.
how many minutes can you put in a CD? I thought you could put 80 minutes of video in mpeg1 vcd format in an blank 80 minutes CD? isn't that accurate?
I am trying to burn a 1.29 movie in a tdk 90 minutes/800 MB and it's too big. oversized mpeg? the only thing different I've done is encoded the subtitles in the video and that's all.
thank you for your help
Mario

MarioGarcia,

Your don't specify how big is too big. What's the size of your MPEG file? If it's about 918MB or below, you can overburn on an 90-min/800MB CD. Remember, you're are trying to burn as a Video file (i.e. VCD/SVCD) and not as a data MPEG file, and so it's OK.

First you have to know that your Burner support overburn. If it does, you have to find out how much it can overburn. Some CD-burner can support up to 99:59, but some only do 94:59. As long as your CD can support it, and if you use burning app such as Nero that support overburning, then you can burn your VCD/SVCD on that 90-min CDR.

Hope I don't confuse you too much.

Cheers,

P.S. If you want to burn your MPEG file as a data file, and with overburning, you can only do about 820MB on a 90-min CDR.

I thank you very much for your help.

the problem is fixed now; the audio wasn't 44100 hz but 48000; so the file wasn't following the standards, I rencoded it and eureka; it worked.

all the details you gave me I didn't know;
thank you
