i was told that AVI-Mux_GUI-1.15.6 comes with gordian knot

after i encode my avi with ac3, i can't do anything with the file except viewing it
it won't let me rename it, move it, or even delete it
an error box pops up and says, that this file is in use even after i have closed avi-mux anyway to fix this problem?

As if Microsoft had not already done enough shit, they screwed the preview of media files up.

Disable that preview, and you'll be able to rename or delete files again.

AVI Mux GUI used to be included, but is no longer included with the current release.

Alexnoe is correct, XP explorer preview is the trouble you are having. And there have been many posts on the subject.

Here's just one:

I have no opinion on the tools as to which is "better." I've used both, and will continue to use whatever len0x and his team decide works fine. If you prefer AviMux, go ahead and use it. You'll find it on Doom9's download pages.

I didn't mean to confuse you.

I am currently using VdubMod for manual splitting/muxing, since it works for me, and is included in the Gknot suite. As I mentioned, AviMux was part of the Gknot suite for a short time. While it was included I occasionally used it.

In another thread you mentioned you are having trouble following my step-by-step instructions for managing soundtracks with VdubMod, so you are welcome to use AviMux or any other tool that suits your purposes.
